John Unger adopted Schoep when he was just a puppy from a local animal shelter and as the years went on, John often wonders who really saved who.

Schoep has been by John’s side through thick and thin. He’s been John’s protector and best friend 19 years, so you can imagine John’s heartbreak over the fact that his beloved dog is now dying.
