When the September 11 attacks happened, no matter who you were, you wanted to try and help in some way. The dogs featured in this article were all used in search and rescue efforts, and many of them have spent their entire lives searching and rescuing after different catastrophes.

These photographs are beautiful reminders that dogs have huge hearts, and live to help people! Dogs routinely put themselves in harm’s way in order to protect their owners and others, and it seems like they never take a moment to think about themselves.
