Ethan has no idea his dreams of getting a dog are about to come true. On Christmas day, Ethan opens one last present from his parents — and without even saying a word, his reaction is so incredibly beautiful that I couldn’t help but choke up. He’s so moved that it makes me appreciate dogs even more — the fact that just the idea of having one can bring someone so young to such an emotional state proves how special these animals really are.

Meet Tiela, a 5-year-old cockatiel hen, who was hanging out outside of her cage with her family’s new 8-week-old Great Dane puppy named Leo! Well, clearly Leo is unsure of who rules the roost around here, judging by the way he starts to roughhouse with Tiela. He gets a little excited and starts to nip at her feathers.
